Samsung is holding an event in New York City to unveil the previously mentioned software update for the Galaxy Tab 10.1, bringing Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and a few other features. Initially, the update was reported to arrive soon Over The Air but Samsung’s Event on August 3rd means that New York City will be the first to get their hands-on once again.

The event shall be open only to press from 11am to 1pm, and then till 6pm for public at Samsung Experience store. After the live “demonstrations”, any Galaxy Tab 10.1 owner will be able to side-load the update in their device with the help of Samsung Reps. A major let-down is that this process will remove all content on the device.

 

The rest of the world will have to wait for the update to arrive Over The Air, which will not remove any data and should be available “soon”. You can find out all about the upcoming update here.
