Game Updates: Cut The Rope, 9mm, Yoo Ninja Plus, Angry Birds Seasons, BlastMonkeys

A lot has been going on in the mobile gaming world recently and there are numerous updates and new releases to popular titles in the Android Market. From Angry Birds to Blast Monkeys, all of these games are considered the top most addictive of all time. Cut The Rope, one of the best selling iOS games also made it’s appearance first time on Android on Getjar.

1: Cut The Rope: First Time on Android

Cut The Rope fans rejoice as the top selling iPhone game makes its way to Android exclusively on Getjar, though the Market and Amazon version might be around the corner. The game features 7 different Boxes full of exciting levels with OmNom (the hungry frog) and his candies. All you have to do is to transfer OmNom’s candy safely to his mouth while trying to get 3 Stars as well, which unlocks new Boxes.

A thing to note here is that the iPhone version is still on Magic Box, apparently, which is the 4th bunch of levels. The Android version’s got a total of 7 Boxes and even more levels are “coming soon”. Graphics and animations are super smooth, with no noticeable lag or bug on the 7″ screen of the Galaxy Tab. You can get it free by visiting m.getjar.com on your mobile phone, or sending the direct link using your PC.

2: Gameloft 9mm

Gameloft just released some screenshots, videos, and more information on the game and it’s main character John “Loose” Kannon, on their official 9mm Facebook page. All members of John’s special team of cops The Squad will get their background stories done while John’s is out now:

John “Loose” Kannon is the cocky and idealistic leader of his own team of cops. He grew up in the middle of a gang war, which forced him to toughen up at an early age. He is disillusioned about the system and sees himself as a modern-day Robin Hood, with a touch of “what’s in it for me?” He believes he and his friends deserve more compensation for the danger they endure day after day.

His obsession with putting away criminals has also ruined his personal life. His constant absence and unpredictable rage forced his wife to leave him and take their daughter. Now, he’ll do whatever it takes to keep them safe.

There is also an album for character artwork available on their Facebook page where each character will pose for showdown. Alas, there is no word yet on the availability, compatibility or pricing of the game though the trailer mentions “Android phones and tablets“.

3: Yoo Ninja Plus

One of the top (and my favorite) games on the Android market just got another title as promised last month. Yoo Ninja Plus brings in a lot of new levels with different features, but the one-touch simple gameplay remains unchanged. There is no other game like Yoo Ninja on the Android Market and if one deserves to be called “addictive”, it’s this one. By the way, I found out the surprise at the end of the first game…and you’re not going to like it, if you hate cookies. So a ninja ran a jungle, a village, over the sea and through a castle just to eat cookies! Now that’s called Ninja Hunger!

4: Angry Birds Seasons

It’s summer, and a lot of pigs are having “pignics” with eggs for lunch; making the birds angrier than ever. This update to Angry Birds Seasons is called Summer Pignic and features 30 (plus 2 additional) levels unlocked regularly by the system of a-level-a-day. You can update it now from the Android Market. Check out the trailer below:

5: Blast Monkeys

Lastly, I would like to mention an update to another one of the top games for mobile phones. Blast Monkeys is all about blasting monkeys to their destination while collecting bananas on the way. The latest updates packs a bunch of levels in a new World called Ocean, the fourth in the line.

It’s a bit like Cut The Rope where the gamelay is concerned, but the main let-downs are the graphics and in-game navigation. There is a considerable lag despite several updates, touch screen issues (on the Galaxy Tab) and lack of animations in game menus. Check out some of the action below:
