A casual but ‘insanely addictive’ game has made its way through popular mobile platforms including iOS, Android and Symbian. Its the biggest hit still on the Apple App Store and is one of the ‘Top Paid Games’ on Ovi Store. Doodle Jump won the Best Game Award 2010 in which Nokia users chose the winning applications themselves. Its popular throughout the world and is, in my case, one of the first games to be installed on a new device!

The objective is to guide the Doodler up platforms and to prevent it from falling down. While the Doodler is constantly jumping, you tilt your device in a direction to move it that way. Stepping on a weak platform will break it, and once you fall down, the game’s over with your score that depends on the height you got up to. Aliens, spaceships and black-holes meet you on the way, and either you avoid or shoot them with the pellets coming from your mouth by a tap on the screen.

 

Rockets, springs, trampolines, and helicopter caps help you get a highscore.
