Android Market NOT catching up to App Store (many countries not supported)
True, Android Market is catching up to App Store in app numbers but the fact that people living in countries like Pakistan, or many other countries don’t even have the option to get paid apps, is too annoying. All they can do is to browse through only the Free Apps and watch while others play cool games they can’t download frm the Market. They say a smartphone nowadays is all about its App Store but if the Store’s only got junk in unsupported countries, why buy the device?
Don’t get me wrong, because there are others alternative ways to download apps. And that means that we are forced to search the web and if we happen to get hold of an app thats normally paid on the app store, the blame is on Google. After all, we buy devices for the number of features it can provide. Google is working on having the Market access more countries, but there are many that are still unsupported. This is, in my opinion, a major reason of Android Market being still behind Apple App Store, though its catching up. If this goes on, Android powered devices might get reduced sales in the particular countries.
The unsupported countrie’s Android Market will show ‘No matching content’ in Featured Apps. There will be no paid apps at all.
If you can’t download the paid apps on Android Market, an alternative is to transfer APK files from PC to your device. If you want to have another Store that does support almost any country, plus has all games and apps free, check this out, a free and easy way to download apps.
You’ll need to wait for the legal way to download paid apps for quite a time if you are not on the supported list of countries. Anyway, you can always check out the above mentioned alternative and enjoy loads of free stuff. :-)
